Tools

Credits and licences.

I did not write these tools. They are an adaptation of someone else's open source work, and this page says exactly whose, under what terms, and what I changed. If you are here to check whether the attribution is real, it is.

The original

delphitools, by Ruby Morgan Voigt. Copyright © 2025. Released under the MIT licence.

It is still online at tools.rmv.fyi (opens in new tab), and the source is at 1612elphi/delphitools (opens in new tab). Go and look at the original. It is a better advertisement for itself than anything I could write here.

MIT allows use, modification, redistribution and commercial use, on one condition: the copyright and permission notice must travel with the software. It does, in the repository, and in full at /licenses/MIT-delphitools.txt.

Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the “Software”), to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions: the above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software.

Fonts

iA Writer Quattro © 2018 Information Architects Inc., based on IBM Plex © 2017 IBM Corp. Licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 — full text.

Noto Sans Shavian © 2022 The Noto Project Authors, also SIL Open Font License 1.1 — full text.

Both carry a Reserved Font Name. They are shipped here unmodified and unrenamed, which is what that clause asks for.

Film simulation LUTs

Substrata's film looks are built on the RawTherapee Film Simulation Collection (opens in new tab) by Pat David, Pavlov Dmitry and Michael Ezra, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. The derived files stay CC BY-SA 4.0, and share-alike travels with them.

The rest were generated with spectral_film_lut (opens in new tab) by Jan Lohse (MIT). Film stock names are used for identification only.

What I removed, and why

The background remover is gone. Upstream used BRIA RMBG-1.4, a model licensed CC BY-NC-ND: non-commercial use only, no derivatives. A commercial licence for it is sold separately and I do not hold one, so the model and the code that fetched it were taken out rather than shipped outside their terms. Substrata's Remove Background went with it, for the same reason.

GSAP went too. It ships under GreenSock's own licence rather than a standard permissive one. Its only use here was an animation I had already removed, so the dependency left with it.

And all of the original branding. The name, the logo, the mascot, the stickers, the donation note, the personal requests and the contact addresses. Those belong to Ruby, not to me, and none of them were mine to wear or to point somewhere else.

Everything else

Built on Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, Radix and Lucide. The tools lean on SVGO, mathjs, fabric, dexie, pdf-lib, pdf.js, bwip-js, qr-code-styling, prosemirror, katex, jSquash and imagetracerjs, among others. All MIT, ISC, BSD or Apache-2.0. jszip is offered as MIT or GPL-3.0-or-later; this build elects MIT.

Upstream's own acknowledgements file is kept in the repository and remains the fuller credit list.
